According to the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC),
The Pollie Awards are hosted by the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), the only bipartisan, non-profit organization for political consultants and public affairs professionals. Our mission is to honor excellence in the practice of political communications.
This year’s Pollie Awards will be held in Washington D.C. and is sure to be an exciting event for our industry. I love attending the Pollies and hearing about the cutting edge changes in campaigns and finding opportunities to grow business.
Back in December, we started a new series of posts on our CampaignHQ Facebook page where we shared “favorites” from our CHQ employees. We thought this would give folks a good look at our awesome employees as well as a chance to see what we do every day. Here are a few of my favorites:
My most embarrassing call:
I got their name wrong. Said, “Sir” instead of “ma’am.” They still gave a pledge. Then I said their name wrong again.
My favorite call:
My caller said that they would not donate a red penny because of all the calls, text messages, and emails. He had called it harassment. I stuck to my guns and kept going. He finally gave in after the 4th ask saying how wonderfully I was so passionate and how I believed in what I was doing by making a difference. He donated $1,500 on a credit card.
My favorite client to call for and why:
Ted Cruz. I believe in Senator Cruz and his agenda! Cruz is a senator we can be proud of. He goes the extra mile for our country and all Americans. He is honest and straight forward. Good family man and an example to the young people in America. We need more senators and congressman with his morals.
My most embarrassing call:
A man asked me if I was married. He didn’t want to hear anything about what I was calling about. No matter how hard I tried to get the first ask in, all he wanted to do is flirt and wanted my personal email address.
My favorite call and why:
When I made a call to a veteran in New York. He was really gruff and grumpy at first but once I got through the first ask, he was pretty nice and ended up donating $100 on a card. He was very sweet and that call made my day.
My favorite CHQ story:
We got to meet Ted Cruz in person. Ted Cruz came to Brooklyn for a town hall meeting and met with all of us callers before hand.
Here’s the final installment of a discussion I had with Campaigns & Elections Magazine last fall. I had a great time discussing how the use of phones is changing.
Essentially, where we communicate with you may have changed, but the way in which we have an authentic conversation, we’re keeping that the same.

Last fall, I did some interviews with my favorite, Campaigns & Elections Magazine. We had a great discussion on a variety of topics. Here are a few clips:

Nicole Schlinger, President of CampaignHQ, discusses non-obvious party cues for Campaigns & Elections.
Check out the latest installment of our Fun with Phones videos where Morgan discusses how ConTEXT saved the say for the Indiana Republican Party on Election Day.
Back at the beginning of the year, I submitted a piece for Campaigns & Elections featuring my predictions for 2020.
Take a look into my crystal ball:
The 2020 cycle will go next-level starting in February with the Iowa Caucuses. President Trump’s campaign will swarm the state with surrogates, including many who are getting attention as 2024 GOP contenders. By the time June rolls around, 2024 hopefuls of the on both sides of the aisle will begin visiting Iowa, under the guise of “helping the ticket.” How serious they are can be determined by how many miles they are willing to drive from the Des Moines airport.
As we near Election Day in November, you’ll see a significant uptick in campaign spending on peer-to-peer texting. This new tech, which successful campaigns are now harnessing to their extreme advantage, will far eclipse robocalls. Campaigns that use P2P texting as a real-time conversation tool will see the greatest impact. This area remains a bit of the “wild west,” so rest assured, regulations are coming after the 2020 cycle.
If you’re new around here, you may not know that we’re fans of the Big Bang Theory. This past fall, we had a little fun with this at CHQ – you can read more about that here CHQ Fun With Phones or check out my video.
