Workin’ Like a Dog – Auto Calls

It’s no secret, the CampaginHQ team is a big fan of dogs – who isn’t? Welcome to our new series – Workin’ Like a Dog. We’re taking a fresh look at how CampaignHQ can deliver your message and help you win.

Today we’re workin’ like….

Nicole Schlinger

Automated/GOTV calls are low maintenance – well, just like cats.

These calls are an incredibly effective way to reach seniors. AARP reports that 64.2% of those 18-24 have only wireless phones and 63.9% of those 34-44 have wireless phones only. But when you jump to those 45-64, 52.9% have landline phones and 76.1% of those 65 or older still utilize their land line phone.

Campaign 101: phone calls can significantly impact your turnout.

You may be scrambling for any last-minute votes and want to ensure that ALL of your supporters turnout.  One of the worst situations for a campaign manager or candidate is to lose by 25 votes and still have $250 in the bank. That $250 could have connected with several voters.

Automated calls are your friend! These calls are quickaffordable, and far reaching. We can get automated calls set up quickly. We can typically have an automated call scheduled or launched within 30 minutes of receipt of approved sound file and data.

A great way to increase the impact of your automated call is to ask a trusted member of the community to deliver your message. Whether that’s an elected official, a local celebrity, or even a member of your family, having someone else explain why you are the right choice can make all the difference.

CampaignHQ is the ONLY call center in America to record and deliver a message from a candidate’s dog! Check out this amazing recording from Lucy Lou, the beloved pooch of State Rep Dawn Pettengill.

Our team has delivered millions of effective telephone fundraising, voter ID, persuasion, patch through, GOTV phone calls and conTEXT messages for winning campaigns and conservative organizations.

We’re known for creative solutions, quick turnaround, competitive pricing, and legendary customer service.

Whatever comes your way, CampaignHQ is here for you, workin’ like a dog, to make sure you are successful.

It’s not too late to call us today 1-888-722-4704.

Workin’ Like a Dog – Advocacy Calls

I’m back with another fun Workin’ Like a Dog post. We’re taking a fresh look at how CampaignHQ can deliver your message and help you win.

Today we’re workin’ like corgis!

Nicole Schlinger GOP

Corgi’s are herding dogs and that’s exactly what Advocacy calls can do for you – herd voters or the public in the direction you want them to go.

Here are a few tips to help you get the most from your advocacy campaign:

  1. Have a script that branches out to different messages based on what the voter tells you. If they are going to vote for you, ask if they would like a yard sign or absentee ballot request. If they are undecided, direct that voter to your website to find more information. This makes your message more personal and relevant to each voter, while still remaining on script.

  1. Leave messages on the final attempt. There are certain voters who simply will not answer the phone. If you don’t leave a message, they will never hear from you.

  1. As you get closer to election day, include a response to indicate who has already voted so you can remove them from your list.  Nicole Schlinger GOP Calls

Here is an example of an advocacy call script.

The experts at CampaignHQ know how to identify voters and advocate your message through a smart combination of live and automated calling. Our persistent, knowledgeable, and effective campaign representatives can (and do) provide the margin of victory.

Workin’ Like a Dog – Voter ID Calls

It’s no secret, the CampaginHQ team is a big fan of dogs – who isn’t? Welcome to our new series – Workin’ Like a Dog. We’re taking a fresh look at how CampaignHQ can deliver your message and help you win.

Today we’re workin’ like basset hounds!

Nicole Schlinger Brooklyn Iowa

Everybody knows that basset hounds have keen noses and are known for being search dogs. This is just like Voter ID calls that help you “sniff out” the voters you want to turnout to the polls.

Voter ID calls are absolutely necessary to any successful campaign. Campaigns who use Voter ID calls to find out what people care about are better able to target direct mail and digital media at just the right issues.

Don’t forget, if you have someone ID’d by issue, you can tie their primary issues to their first and second candidate choice. If you are the second choice of an individual and you know what issues they care about, now you have something to work with.

CampaignHQ will get you the most accurate information possible in your Voter ID calls and once we’ve gathered your data, we can help you craft a strategy to turn out your supporters and persuade the undecided voters.

Fun Flashback Friday – The End of Political Campaigns?

We have a great, brilliant team at CampaignHQ – have you heard me mention that before?

Nicole Schlinger CampaignHQ

For today’s Fun Flashback Friday post, I’m sharing this expert analysis from Walter Haynie, CHQ’s Chief Information Officer.

A lot of buzz has been generated by the recent study on the persuasive effects of campaign contact, authored by UC Berkeley political scientist, Joshua Kalla and Stanford professor David Broockman. If you haven’t seen it, here is the full 166 page study including data on 49 field experiments. Below is a more lunch-time digestible summary.

The media went nuts on this one, with headlines like, “The End of Political Campaigns As We Know Them?” and “Traditional Campaign Tactics Are Basically A Waste Of Time.”  Not surprisingly, the headlines ignore large swaths of the authors’ findings: voter contact works to persuade voters, but only when it’s done right.

You can read the full post with Walter’s great insights here.

Have a great weekend,

Your Election is Not Cancelled

These past few months have been full of uncertainty. You may be wondering… How will you get your name on the ballot if you can’t door knock for petitions? How can you express your views on the economy to your voters? Will the election be held on the same day or postponed?

Voters are just as full of questions… Where do I vote? How do I vote? Who is even on the ballot?

One thing is for certain, if your primary is scheduled for June 2 or later, your election is not cancelled!

With door-knocking and events out of the question, now is the time to re-open and jump start your campaign, starting those crucial conversations with voters in new ways.

How can CampaignHQ help?

Voter ID

Telephone Townhalls

Use the month of May to learn what your voters think! Since in-person campaigning has been impossible for the last 60 days, you may have pushed back your voter ID. CampaignHQ can help you get back on track and identify your supporters and undecided voters.

We can set up an automated call quickly, and they are extremely affordable! We can help draft a script, record the audio, scrub the list of mobile phones, set up, and launchUsing an automated call to survey voters can help you get the results you have been anticipating quickly!

CampaignHQ can also assist you with a live blind ID call. Simply send us a list of voters you would like us to contact and we can do the rest!

Telephone Townhalls

CampaignHQ can help you rally your supporters and show undecided voters that you are ready, able, and willing to talk with them and answer their questions!

Setting up a telephone townhall is easy when working with CampaignHQ. Simply send us a date and time you would like to talk with your voters (or constituents on the official side!) and a list. We will help you record your sound files for a pre-call, live answer, voicemail, and even post call! We can also help you invite voters via text message and advise you on how to promote the event through your email and social channels.

As the country re-opens and election day grows near, phone calls can significantly impact your turnout. We are in an unprecedented time. Some people have never voted by mail and if they don’t request an absentee ballot, they may not be able to vote for you on Election Day! Others may be confused how and where to vote, now that protocols have changed due to social distancing.

CampaignHQ can send out a conTEXT message letting your voters know where their voting location is on Election Day! We can even text voters how they would apply for an absentee ballot! As you know, nothing is worse than voters not showing up to cast their ballot!

Give us a call,

Telephone Townhalls Replacing Candidate Forums

The past 60 days have certainly changed the way lawmakers are interacting with constituents, how first-time candidates are reaching voters and how advocacy groups are able to fortify their issue messaging.

CampaignHQ recently had the privilege of working with an advocacy group, Iowans for Tax Relief (ITR), to replace their traditional “in person” candidate forums with a telephone townhall Iowa’s HD60, a competitive open seat race in the June 2nd primary.

This telephone townhall gave two first-time candidates the opportunity to express their views and for Iowans for Tax Relief to make sure voters know where these candidates stand on state taxpayer issues.

For this event, the organization dialed out to landline phones and reached those with cellphones who opt-ed in. They also promoted the event through email and their social media, offering voters a toll-free number to dial in and listen. The most active and involved participants in any Telephone Townhall are those who proactively dial in to your event getting the word to people who will be interested is well worth your time and effort. Here are a few ideas that you might find helpful:

  • Send peer-to-peer text messages, including your toll-free phone number that participants can click to join. Consider an MMS, using an image or GIF to draw focus and attention.
  • Email your list 48 hours in advance, and again the morning of your event.
  • Post on social media several times in advance and 10 minutes before the event begins. Ask your followers to post and share.
  • Send an automated call to the people who will be receiving your outbound dial to join your event. Let them know all they need to do is simply wait by the phone and answer when you call.

Nicole Schlinger promotions

ITR’s event was successful because they approached their telephone townhall with the same level of preparation as they would any in-person event. They planned the flow and structure of questions, laid out the rules for the discussion and notified the participants ahead of time. CampaignHQ can help you hold your audience with a conversation WORTH having. We’ll work with your team to develop tools such as:

  • A line-by-line, including notes for your opening remarks, will help guide the conversation and cover important topics.  It helps to have a moderator open the call, who can instruct people on how to participate, and call on members of the audience for you.
  • Keep the conversation fast and lively. Have responses ready for questions you think are likely to come up. Your responses to each question or comment should be no longer than 2-3 minutes.
  • Give your audience several ways to participate. You can ask your audience their opinion with a poll question and gather email addresses.

At CampaignHQ, we specialize in turning communication into action through training, scripting, and real-time feedback. Once the event is over, we’ll help you make the best use of your valuable data. For example, CampaignHQ provided ITR with valuable data about their Telephone Townahll, including breakdowns on who was reached and how long they stayed on the call.

We are used to helping campaigns and organizations take it to the next level after a Telephone Townhall. Now is the time to take the most valuable segments of your interactive conversation and share them with an even larger audience.  Here’s how:

  • Use the recording of your event and a static image to create 60 second MP4 videos that you can post to your YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages. Encourage your followers to post, share, and ReTweet.
  • Send peer-to-peer text messages of your video, along with a link to listen to the entire event. Ask people to reply to your text to let you know what they think.
  • Email your supporters a synopsis along with a link to listen to the entire event or pertinent clips.

Telephone Townhalls are a powerful, effective way to communicate your message to an audience of thousands, over the phone and online. They allow for a meaningful connection regardless of who you are: a candidate, an incumbent, an advocacy group – or what goal you have in mind: reaching voters, raising money, hosting a forum.

Let us help you put your goals in motion with a Telephone Townhall.
