Giving Back

I’m tremendously proud of the work the CampaignHQ team does for our clients. We have the most dedicated, hard working, talented and caring group of employees.

Our teams are constantly giving back to the communities which they live. One example of that came just before the Christmas holiday this year when our Oskaloosa location made a donation to the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter.

In addition to the monetary gift, the callers also presented pet supplies. Needless to say, both employees and sweet Boomer (resident of the animal shelter) had a great day.

Fun Book Facts

For today’s fun Friday post, I wanted to share this graphic that I found some time ago. If you’re new here, you should know I am an avid book reader and consumer of knowledge.

You can check out my thoughts on countless books I’ve read on my Medium page where I review books about business, human nature, decision making, sales and capitalism (of course).

Considering the amount of books I read each year, I found this graphic very surprising.

I’d encourage you to pick up a book and get started. Your local librarian should have a few good ideas or you can check out the reading list I put together last fall.

Thanks for reading,

Nicole

Fun Friday

…or in this guy’s case, not so fun Friday.

Check out this story from the New York Times.

A person running for city council did not get the chance to vote for himself and ended up tying his opponent on election day. In the end, he lost by the roll of the dice.

Several important points here, but mostly: don’t be this guy. Voter turnout matters and we can help you so you don’t end up throwing it all away on the roll of the dice.

Our State Fair

This summer, I took a trip to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Have you ever been? Of course, there are rides, lots of livestock, an occasional politician and weird things on a stick.

One of my favorite encounters this year was this display on phones. We all know how far phones have come as technology has increased. Here are a few that gave me a good laugh:

Before predictive dialers…
Sen. Chuck Grassley was making major donor calls from the road.
Before there was conTEXT… there was teletype.
CampaignHQ call floor, 1920s style
Phones I’ve actually used

It’s fun to look back on where we’ve been and even more exciting to think about where we’re going in the future. Don’t worry – CampaignHQ will be leading the way, quickly changing and updating with technology. Let us know if we can help you get with the times.
