Fun Friday – What I’m Into

For this Fun Friday post, I’m sharing a few things that I’m into lately.

Check out this article. I’ve been saying this one for years.

I mean, it’s science people.

And then there are these – which would probably look great with something else I mentioned recently.

As if you needed another reason to join the #CHQ team …

When considering your next job, you don’t have to choose between joining a big pond and being a big fish. You want to join a growing pond, because that’s where you’ll become the biggest fish. Great read here.

Have a great weekend!

Cycle of Success – More Great Clients

Here’s another installment of our Cycle of Success

We love talking about our clients and sharing in their many successes. Here are a few more highlights.

.

I’ll never forget the calls we made for Gov. Dunleavy’s campaign on election day. Being in Alaska, these were the last GOTV calls we had to make that day. Our team was tired. Our voices were hoarse. Some folks had been on the phones for 12+ hours already! But the way our folks rallied was nothing short of inspirational! Thank you Brett Huber!

We’re so thankful for the support and kind words of the talented crew from the Bacon team.

Powerful cause, incredible team – we have the best clients.

Thanks for checking in!

I’m Not Mad About It

Not long ago, Politico Magazine published an interesting article titled, “The Hardest Glass Ceiling in Politics.”

It’s an interesting read, focused on Republican and Democratic women involved in politics. Throughout the article, a Republican female consultant from Iowa is quoted anonymously.

Given the context of the article, I felt the need to speak out that the person quoted in this article is NOT me. In fact, I lead a team of mostly men, and the women on my team are anything but tokens.

There are times when I am the only woman at the table, and that’s fine.

My clients are smart enough to want me at the table, so that’s where I’ll stay.

Fun Friday

…or in this guy’s case, not so fun Friday.

Check out this story from the New York Times.

A person running for city council did not get the chance to vote for himself and ended up tying his opponent on election day. In the end, he lost by the roll of the dice.

Several important points here, but mostly: don’t be this guy. Voter turnout matters and we can help you so you don’t end up throwing it all away on the roll of the dice.

Do You Know Where Your Money Is Going?

I wanted to provide you with another great post by a member of the CampaignHQ team. As we inch closer to Christmas time (how did that happen?), Marlys makes some great points about Christmas shopping in line with your values. Thanks for reading!

Here at Campaign Headquarters, we partner with some of the most amazing people and causes. Recently we assisted 2nd Vote with a Microforum for their supporters.

A Microforum is a full featured telephone townhall for less than 500 participants. People can dial in, or we can dial out to your supporters. We can either furnish a screener for questions, or we can train your team to screen.

If your organization is on a strict budget, a Microforum may be a perfect way to communicate with supporters and/or members.

2nd Vote is a conservative watchdog that exposes corporations and organizations which use their corporate influence in matters of culture and policy in an effort to promote ideals that are contrary to conservative principles. Visit 2nd Vote Here

Your first vote takes place on Election Day but your second vote takes place each time you make a purchase.

On 2nd Vote’s Microforum the audience learned about alternatives to companies who threaten our values –  There are alternatives – Listen here to learn about a few

In 2nd Vote’s recent Microforum, they also discussed their new Christmas guide – a guide designed to suggest Christmas gifts produced by corporations that are not contrary to YOUR values. See Guide Here

Let your 2nd vote reflect your 1st! Happy Shopping!

Thanks,
